The Giants visit the Rams for an 8:15 PM ET kickoff on ESPN and ABC, with Los Angeles favored by 6.5 and the total set at 47.5. New York arrives 1-0 after beating Dallas 28-20, while the Rams had 11 days to regroup from a 27-7 loss to San Francisco in the NFL's first regular-season game in Australia.
Puka Nacua is the most important pregame variable. He remains officially questionable with a hip designation after groin soreness prevented him from practicing Friday or Saturday, and the latest expectation is that his availability will come down to how he feels as pregame warmups approach. Nacua is reportedly trending toward not playing, but Los Angeles has not closed the door on him testing the injury before the inactive list is finalized.
Giants vs. Rams Recent Results
New York Giants (1-0)
The Giants opened John Harbaugh's first season with a 28-20 win over Dallas. Dart completed 23 of 29 passes for 230 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions while adding 54 rushing yards, giving New York an efficient dual-threat performance from its second-year quarterback. Cam Skattebo added 81 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries, while Malik Nabers returned from last year's knee injury with six catches for 69 yards.
New York was particularly efficient in possession football. The Giants rushed for 165 yards and converted nine of their first 10 third-down attempts before Dart's final kneel, allowing them to control long stretches of the second half against Dallas.
Los Angeles Rams (0-1)
Los Angeles opened with a 27-7 loss to San Francisco in Melbourne after trailing only 10-7 at halftime. Stafford completed 15 of 25 passes for 155 yards with no touchdowns and one interception, while the Rams failed to score after Kyren Williams' second-quarter rushing touchdown.
Nacua was the clear bright spot with five catches for 74 yards, including a 41-yard reception that helped set up the Rams' only touchdown. His potential absence therefore matters significantly after he accounted for nearly half of Stafford's Week 1 passing yardage.

Giants vs. Rams Line Movement and Betting Splits
Los Angeles opened around -8.5 before the market moved two full points toward New York to Rams -6.5. The total has remained much steadier at 47.5. Nacua's late-week injury uncertainty adds another reason for the market to hesitate on laying a larger number with Los Angeles.
New York has attracted 71% of spread bets but only 50% of the handle, while Los Angeles has just 29% of tickets yet an equal 50% share of the money. That creates a substantially larger average Rams wager despite the Giants being the far more popular side by ticket count.
The Over has 57% of total bets and 74% of the handle. The moneyline presents the opposite spread picture, with bets split evenly but 73% of the handle on Giants +240 compared to only 27% on Los Angeles -298.
Giants vs. Rams Prediction
Nacua's status has to be addressed first because he is one of the most important players in Los Angeles' offense. He led the NFL with 129 catches for 1,715 yards last season and immediately commanded nine targets in Week 1. Losing that level of volume would unquestionably lower Stafford's margin for error.
The injury does not automatically eliminate the Rams from a spread this size because New York has its own problems in the secondary. Paulson Adebo has been placed on injured reserve, while Deonte Banks is questionable after missing the final two practices with a calf injury. Even without Nacua, Stafford could be throwing against a cornerback group featuring Greg Newsome II and rookie Colton Hood in expanded roles.
That creates a significant opportunity for Davante Adams. His Rams debut produced only three catches for 26 yards, but a Nacua absence would naturally move him toward the center of the passing game. Los Angeles can also compensate with Tyler Higbee, Colby Parkinson and heavier tight-end personnel rather than asking inexperienced receivers to simply replace Nacua's entire target share.
Protection is another reason to expect Stafford to improve. Despite the ugly Week 1 result, San Francisco did not sack him once. The Rams' offense failed because of missed opportunities, an interception, a goal-line stop and a late fumble rather than the offensive line being completely overwhelmed. That is encouraging against a Giants front featuring Brian Burns and Abdul Carter.
The bigger matchup concern for Los Angeles is New York's rushing attack. The Giants ran for 165 yards against Dallas, while the Rams surrendered 174 rushing yards against San Francisco. Dart adds an extra gap with his legs, and Skattebo is physical enough to punish poor tackling if Los Angeles again loses early downs.
Aaron Donald's return could materially change that matchup. Donald is expected to make his first appearance since coming out of retirement after sitting out the Australia game, although expecting his traditional 75%-plus snap workload immediately would be unrealistic. Even a managed role gives Los Angeles another disruptive interior presence and allows Chris Shula to build more difficult third-down looks around Dart.
Dart was outstanding against Dallas, but asking a second-year quarterback to repeat a 79.3% completion rate and 134.2 passer rating on the road is a different challenge. New York also converted third downs at an extraordinary rate in Week 1, something that becomes difficult to reproduce if Los Angeles is better against the run and consistently creates third-and-medium or third-and-long.
The schedule also favors the Rams. Los Angeles has had 11 days between games after playing San Francisco on September 10, giving McVay considerably more preparation time than a normal week to correct the issues from Australia. The travel burden was significant, but the extended recovery period and return to SoFi Stadium make this a very different environment than the opener.
The line move from -8.5 to -6.5 has also created a better entry point. Nacua's uncertainty deserves to lower Los Angeles' offensive expectation, but the Rams now only need a touchdown victory to cover rather than being asked to win by multiple scores. With New York's secondary weakened and Donald returning, there are still enough matchup advantages for Los Angeles to create separation.

Nacua remaining questionable into pregame warmups is the biggest risk, and his status should be monitored right up to the inactive announcement. Even if he sits, however, the Giants' depleted cornerback room gives Stafford and Adams a favorable enough matchup to keep the Rams offense functional.
Los Angeles has also received a much better number after opening around -8.5. With extra rest, Donald returning and New York coming off an exceptionally efficient offensive performance that will be difficult to replicate, the Rams have a strong path to responding at home with a touchdown-plus victory.
