Eddie Hearn confirms talks are taking place for a fight to take place at Old Trafford or Manchester Arena.
2017 is promising to be some year for boxing fans as promoter Eddie Hearn has confirmed domestic rivals Kell Brook and Amir Khan are in discussions to face each other in May 2017.
Hearn told the BBC: "There's a good chance of it [the bout] happening. Amir wants it to happen, so does Kell. We want to put a fight on for the fans."
There's certainly no love lost between the pair and Khan stoked the flames further this week when he told Badlefthhook.com "I don't mind having that as a tune-up fight - the Kell Brook fight - before I go into big fights, so we in talks, I've left it to my team. I have a great team in the UK now."
Brook has responded with a number of tweets calling out Khan and bookies favour the man from Sheffield to come out on top with Paddy Power making him the 8/11 favourite, with Khan available at 6/5.
Both fighters have not fought since suffering defeats at the hands of superstars Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin respectively, with Khan suffering a spectacular KO at the hands of the Mexican and Brook sustaining a fractured right eye socket in his brutal fifth-round stoppage at the hands of the Kazak.
Glad you've woken up from your last KO, I believe our teams are talking I look forward to sending you back to sleep #QueenKardashion
