Fury the pick of the punters ahead of Parker showdown

Fury the pick of the punters ahead of Parker showdown

The two unbeaten fighters meet at the Manchester Arena on Saturday for the WBO title

Hughie Fury bids to emulate his cousin Tyson and become a heavyweight champion of the world this weekend when he faces WBO king Joseph Parker in Manchester.

The 23-year-old has been out of the ring since April last year but is unbeaten so far in his professional career with a perfect 20-0 record. Kiwi Parker also comes into the fight unbeaten with a 23-0 record and was last seen grinding out an uninspiring points victory over Razvan Cojanu in May this year in what was his first defence of his WBO title.

On paper the fight looks almost too close to call and bookmakers have both fighters evenly matched with the reigning champ Parker the slight favourite at 4/5 with Fury 6/5.

Punters however have other ideas with the challenger proving the more popular of the two fighters. In the last 90 days, over 60% of all bets on the winners market have been for Fury with Parker trailing in behind with just 33%.

In terms of how the fight will be won, bettors are expecting the fight to go the distance with Fury to win by decision the most popular choice at just under 48%.
