Joshua vs Paul: Bettor Places Staggering $5million Bet on Underdog

A bettor has placed a staggering amount of money on internet sensation Jake Paul to beat Anthony Joshua.

Hollywood producer John Peters has stunned the boxing world by reportedly placing a $5 million bet on Jake Paul to shock Anthony Joshua in their boxing clash on December 19 in Miami.

The fight, which pits YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul against the former two-time heavyweight world champion, is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about events of the year.

Yet, the general consensus remains that Joshua is the overwhelming favourite, with many expecting Paul to struggle against the Briton's power and experience.

Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua Predictions

Despite these lopsided odds, the fight has attracted significant attention from bettors. Over the past week, 49% of wagers on oddschecker have backed Joshua, while 46% have been placed on Paul, highlighting the growing belief that the underdog could pull off a historic upset.

Peters, renowned for producing films such as A Star is Born and The Batman, is clearly confident in Paul's chances. If the bet pays off, the Hollywood mogul could walk away with a staggering $35 million-plus payout.

Paul himself is aware of the uphill battle he faces but remains unshaken. He has likened his approach to Andy Ruiz Jr’s 2019 upset of Joshua, calling himself “Andy Ruiz 2.0.”

Interestingly, Paul is not without his high-profile supporters. Former opponent Nate Diaz has wagered $20,000 on Paul, while heavyweight icon Tyson Fury has even suggested he might put £1 million on a Paul victory.
