Can England qualify for Super 8? England Odds to Win the T20 Cricket World Cup

England face a must-win game at the T20 Cricket World Cup against Oman.

The ICC T20 Cricket World Cup has been full of surprises.

The most remarkable being hosts, the US, beating former winners Pakistan via a super over and looking likely for a shock second round qualification.

England are the joint second most successful side in the tournament’s history, winning the last edition down under to double their T20 trophy haul.

But, after a no result against neighbours Scotland in their first game and a damaging loss to Australia in their second, Jos Buttler’s men need to find form to find a way out of the group.

England need to win their remaining fixtures, and hope the Scots slip up, to avoid what would be one of the biggest surprises of the tournament.

Despite not yet winning a game, England are still placed to qualify from their group. Their final two fixtures are against the already eliminated Namibia and Oman.

But don’t be fooled, both of these sides will be out for blood.

Can England qualify for Super 8?

If Scotland, as expected, lose to a rampant Australia in their final game, and England win both of their fixtures, Buttler's boys still have a good chance of reaching the Super 8.

Two wins for England against Oman and Namibia will match Scotland's total of five points. However, England must win convincingly and hope Australia beat Scotland by a margin allowing the defending champions' net run-rate to usurp Scotland (currently -1.800 vs + 2.164).

England vs Oman Cricket Odds

England are 1/28 (Betfred) to beat Oman on Thursday; a victory for the underdogs would be a huge shock at 16/1 (Paddy Power). A loss here and England’s tournament is over.

England Odds to Win the T20 Cricket World Cup

While it looks fairly likely that England will make it out of the group, the second-round Super 8 round pits the best against the best, and it could prove a bridge too far.

England are priced at 15/8 (Sky Bet) to make it out of the Super 8 and into the last four, ranking them as the sixth most likely. Jos Buttler’s side are 10/1 on Betfred to win the whole thing.

Can they still qualify? Yes. Will they win it? Probably not.
