World no.2 Peter Snakebite Wright could be on for a shock exit.
With just one win to his name out of a possible six, Peter Wright is now 7/2 to be relegated from the Premier League.
What could have been for last year’s Premier League finalist, who had darts to win the title away from Michael van Gerwen but instead finds himself in serious trouble.
The many new faces to this year’s league has seen Snakebite struggle to find any sort of form.
After his second 7-1 defeat in successive weeks, Oddschecker punters backed in their numbers for the Scotsman to be down and out by the end of judgement night.
Just over 70% of all relegation bets have been placed on Peter Wright, who next faces van Barneveld, who has recently dismantled Gerwyn Price before a solid draw against Gary Anderson last week.
Gerwyn Price hasn’t managed a single win so far in his debut season in the Premier League and is best priced at 2/13 to be relegated.
Mensur Suljovic has also struggled in his first Premier League campaign and is best priced at 11/10 for the drop. However, he easily put Wright to bed, smashing him 7-1, and the value definitely currently is with the Scot.
Oddschecker spokesman George Elek: “It’s been a bleak campaign from Peter ‘Snakebite’ Wright and he is in real danger of dropping out of the tournament at the first hurdle.
He has continued to change his darts over and over and this seems to have finally caught him out. If he is to lose again this week to van Barneveld, the 7/2 price will very much be long gone.”
