How early can Celtic be crowned champions?

It already looks like the title race is over in Scotland but when can Celtic fans start planning their party?

Celtic continued their apparent march to the Scottish Premiership title with yet another three points at home to Partick Thistle at Celtic Park on Tuesday night. That victory put Brendan Rodgers' team 11 points clear of nearest rivals Rangers in second and with two games in hand. Having dropped just two points all season, bookies now have the Hoops as short as 1/750 to be crowned Scottish Champions for the 48th time in their history.

If The Hoops can continue picking up points at their current rate (with Rangers continuing to do the same), Scott Brown will be lifting the SPL trophy as early as the 1st of April when they travel to Tyncecastle to face Hearts.

As well as becoming Champions again, they are also on course to break the total points record for the season set by themselves in the 2001/02 season (103 points). In fact, Rodgers' Bhoys can afford to drop another 8 points before the season finishes and still beat the record.

Another record appears to be on too, that of most goals scored in a season. Again it would be themselves they would be beating, this time the 03/04 version who managed to bang in 105 goals. The 16/17 vintage is currently scoring just under 3 goals a game and if they can continue at this rate, they should beat the record by at least 6 goals.

And finally, they are still on to do something no other team has ever manged, to go unbeaten through the whole season. Again it's Celtic who hold the record with just the solitary defeat in the 01/02 season and with no European distractions for Rodgers and his team, it's perfectly feasible that this team could replicate the achievement of the Arsenal invincibles in of 2003/2004.
