Mourinho has confirmed he is willing to listen to offers for his players in January.
Jose Mourinho has recently confirmed that he is willing to listen to offers for some of his players. He already has a huge squad available to him, which has led to many top players being restricted to game time. With some fans not happy with sections of the playing staff, we could see leave Old Trafford in the near future.
We’ve taken a look at which players could be heading out in the January transfer window.
Two players who stand out are Memphis Depay (2/5) and Bastian Schweinsteiger (4/6). Depay was signed for a fee in the region of £27 million last summer but he has failed to make an impact since. Mourinho has restricted the Dutchman to seven substitute appearances and one start this season, with a loan move looking likely for the 22-year-old.
Schweinsteiger was told it would be virtually impossible for him to get back into the Man Utd squad in August, but he has recently been training with the first team and made his first substitute appearance of the season in the EFL cup last month. The MLS have declared their interest in the German saying they would welcome him with “open arms”.
Ashley Young (6/1) made the move to Manchester in 2011 and he’s managed 110 appearances in all competitions as well as a Premier League winners medal. He would brings a wealth of experience to any team which could interest many Premier League sides.
Other players who have struggled in the opening months of the season include England captain Wayne Rooney (4/1), Marouane Fellaini (5/1) and Daley Blind (14/1). All three of them have failed to hold their place in the starting 11 and may look elsewhere for first team football.
