We take a look at which players Oddschecker users have been putting their cash on to score first in 2016.
We all love a first goal scorer bet! But who have you, the Oddschecker user, backed most to grab the opener in 2016?
The most backed is no other than Sergio Aguero, which is no surprise considering since joining Man City in July 2011, he’s racked up a total of 112 goals in 162 league games.
Second place is last season’s Golden Boot winner, Harry Kane. Cristiano Ronaldo completes the top 3 – yes Cristiano, you’re above Messi, and by some distance actually. Our users obviously don’t fancy the little Argentinian as much, which is probably down to lack of value rather than lack of ability. He slips in at number 15.
Injury prone Daniel Sturridge is a bit of a shock at number 8. This means when he is fit, our users get stuck right in – the same of which can’t be said for fragile Studgey.
Jamie Vardy's having a party! I think it's safe to say most of the bets on the striker would have been in the first half of the year, as after a 24-goal haul last season, Vardy has just 5 to his name so far.
Wayne Rooney recently said people were trying to write his obituary. Well it certainly wasn’t our lot, as you’re all still throwing a few quid on old Wazza! The England captain is 14th on the list.
We must have a lot of Celtic fans on site, as somehow Leigh Griffiths has made it in at 18. The prolific Scot racked up 31 goals in a title-winning campaign last season and personally won the PFA Scotland, Scottish Football Writers and SPL Player of the Year awards - on second thought, maybe I’ve been missing out…
