FA Cup draw: Chelsea odds slashed again

FA Cup draw: Chelsea odds slashed again

The draw hasn't thrown up the most exciting round of games as the big boys all avoid each other.

The FA Cup draw for the fourth-round was announced tonight and it’s safe to say there aren’t many ties that have captured the imagination.

Chelsea have shortened once again and are now as short as 4/1 to win the cup after drawing Brentford. It is a repeat of the 2013 fourth-round match-up in which the Bees managed to take Chelsea to a replay, before going on to lose 4-0 at Stamford Bridge.

The joint second favourite Manchester clubs won’t be disheartened by their draws. Manchester City will face Bolton or Crystal Palace; the Citizens' preference surely being the short trip to the Macron Stadium, as opposed to having to negotiate a potentially tricky tie against Big Sam's outfit. United will be hosting Championship strugglers, Wigan, whom Jose's men should dispatch comfortably.

Arsenal have drifted to 8/1 and their fans will be praying for Norwich to overcome Southampton in their replay. The last two times the Saints have faced Arsenal in a domestic cup they have knocked them out. Spurs, now short as 6/1 for the competition, welcome Wycombe Wanderers to the Lane. Let’s see how Alderweireld handles ‘The Beast’!

Plymouth Argyle will still be dreaming of an upset in the replay against Liverpool - the winner of which will play Wolves in the next round. Millwall will be hopeful of taking another Premier League scalp at the Den after being drawn at home to Watford.

And not to forget, we have an East Midlands derby to look forward to as Leicester clash Derby County at Pride Park.
