Odds suggest Newcastle could be set to sign three internationals in January.
Newcastle could start February with a completely new centre midfield partnership, a duo who boast fifty international appearances between them.
The Magpies have come in from 6/1, to as short as 8/11 to sign Everton midfielder James McCarthy. The ex-Wigan player has had an injury hit season and has only managed eight appearances in this Premier League season. The arrival of Schneiderlin and the form of Gueye is expected to limited the amount of first XI appearances for the Republic of Ireland international.
Newcastle look set to return back to the Premier League, and they already look like they’re planning for next year. As well as McCarthy, they’re also rumoured to be signing Fabian Delph from Manchester City. Delph hasn’t secured a regular first XI spot for City, and things don’t look to be changing anytime soon. The England international is 3/1 to sign for the Championship league leaders before February.
Andros Townsend’s 1/5 to stay at Crystal Palace this season, however the rumours of him moving back north continue to grow. Newcastle lead the market to sign the winger at 4/1. If the Magpies can add these three Premier League players to their already strong midfield consisting of Colback, Shelvey, Diame, Ritchie and Gouffran their odds on promotion should shorten even further than the current 1/14.
