Chelsea are reportedly mulling over a move for Dembele, after Celtic demand £40 million for the striker.
Celtic paid Fulham only £500,000 in compensation when they signed the striker last summer and he has attracted interest from some of Europe's biggest clubs after a fine season.
Chelsea seem to be the club most interested in the French striker but it would take as much as £40 million to secure him.
That's after Celtic put that price tag on him, with Brendan Rogers desperate to keep him at the Glasgow club. Dembele has scored 18 goals in all competitions this season, becoming a big part in their huge unbeaten run.
Rogers will be hoping the 20 year old is advised to stay at Celtic to aid his development further, as opposed to playing second fiddle to Diego Costa at Chelsea.
Chelsea themselves would find it difficult to complete such a big deal on deadline day and could wait until the Summer to concrete their interest. Antonio Conte has already looked at strengthening his forward line in this window, having expressed interest in Swansea's Fernando Llorente.
So, while Chelsea are the favourites to sign Dembele in this window it seems unlikely they would rush through a deal like this on deadline day, when they already have Costa and Batshuayi. Once the futures of those two players are sorted out at the end of the season, that would seem a far more appropriate time to buy the highly rated Dembele.
