Lincoln and Millwall make FA Cup quarter-finals

Lincoln City produced one of the biggest FA Cup shocks while League One Millwall beat Premier League champions Leicester.

For anyone doubting whether the FA Cup has lost some of it's magic, Saturday proved it certainly hasn't with two huge upsets.

Lincoln City shocked everyone by beating Burnley to become the first non-league side to make the FA Cup quarter-finals since 1914.

Sean Raggett's last minute winner sent the away support into raptures as Lincoln became the first team in the hat for Sunday evening's draw and end an 103-year wait for a non-league side to reach the quarter-finals.

Following the famous win, Lincoln manager Danny Cowley described this season's FA Cup run as 'life-changing'. He said: "It’s bought some of the magic back, whoever says the FA Cup is dead hasn’t been to Lincoln in the last eight weeks.

"This run has bought Lincoln back to the forefront of peoples minds in the city. It’s been massive for us. It’s a game changer for the football club in terms of the finance," added Cowley.

Millwall produced the other big upset of the day and have now added Leicester City to the list of Premier League scalps at The Den. The Lions had previously knocked out Bournemouth and Watford at home before Shaun Cummings' winner saw 10-man Millwall beat Premier League champions Leicester.

Jake Cooper had been sent off just after 50 minutes for a second bookable offence. But the Foxes were unable to capitalise and Cummings punished them with a 90th minute winner. Millwall last reached the FA Cup quarter-final in 2004 when they made the final.

Elsewhere, Huddersfield held Manchester City to a 0-0 draw and Middlebrough needed a late winner to see off Oxford 3-2 at the Riverside, after the away side fought back from 2-0 down.
