Portuguese head coach has left Hull City following their relegation.
Following the shock news of Sam Allardyce's departure from the Selhurst Park hot seat on Tuesday, there has been a number of names linked with replacing the former England manager at the South London club. Those names have included Premier League winners Roberto Mancini and Claudio Ranieri as well as current Wales manager Chris Coleman and Burnley manager Sean Dyche. However, this morning it appears there is now a clear front-runner for the job, at least if the betting is to be believed.
It has been announced that Marco Silva has left Hull City with immediate effect following their relegation with the head coach reported to have informed the club of his decision last night. The former Sporting Lisbon and Olympiakos manager was in charge for just 139 days and only 18 league games but still managed to enhance his reputation as he so nearly managed to pull off the unthinkable by saving the Tigers.
The 39-year-old has been linked with numerous jobs already this summer including Watford and Southampton and was said to have flown to his native Portugal to hold talks with giants Porto earlier this week. But It now looks like the capital will be his next destination as he’s now odds-on with some firms to take the reins at Palace.
1/2 with Betvictor, he is now clear favourite across the board apart from Ladbrokes who have him at 2/1 behind Mancini. Oddschecker punters have made their choice it seems with 60% of bets in the last 24 hours for Silva, accounting for 85% of stakes.
Former England manager Roy Hodsgson has seen a number of small bets along with current Fulham gaffer Slavisa Jokonovic.
