Roy Hodgson new favourite for Crystal Palace job

Roy Hodgson new favourite for Crystal Palace job

Hodgson's odds have been slashed from 12/1 to 11/8 to take charge of the Eagles.

Former England manager Roy Hodgson’s odds to be the next Crystal Palace manager have been dramatically slashed today by bookmakers. Available at 12/1 last night, he is now as short as 4/6 to take over at Selhurst Park.

Hodgson has enjoyed successful spells at Premier League clubs in recent years, most notably Fulham and West Brom. At Fulham, he miraculously saved the club from relegation in 2007 and then continued his good work to guide them to a Europa League final, a feat which earned him the LMA Manager of the Year award that season.

It was reported that Palace spoke to the 69-year-old last December after the sacking of Alan Pardew and it now seems as though their interest has been reignited. 39.2% of bets on the market today have been on Hodgson and 11/8 are the biggest odds you will find.

Previous favourite, Sean Dyche, is now out to 7/2, whilst Maurico Pellegrino – who was 5/2 just a few days ago – is out to 10/1. Garry Monk and Claudio Ranieri are next in the market at 20/1.
