Southampton are currently without a manager after sacking Claude Puel recently after just 12 months in the job. It seems as though the club’s hierarchy may be looking at fellow Frenchman, Patrick Vieira, to replace Puel as bookies are slashing the odds on him to take over at St Mary’s next season.
The ex-Arsenal captain made a name for himself in the coaching world at Man City, fulfilling a number of roles within their youth setup. He is currently the manager of New York City FC in the MLS and lead the club to their first ever play-off appearance last season.
Vieira was available at 20/1 just four days ago but is now as short as 6/4 for the job. In the last 24 hours, he has accounted for 33.3% of bets through our site. He is still available at 9/2 with one bookie however, with Mauricio Pellegrino still leading the market with majority of bookmakers (best price 13/8).
