Chelsea have shortened from 33/1 to 4/1 to sign the Dortmund striker.
Although they are unlikely to admit it, Chelsea fans would have been disappointed by the news that Romelu Lukaku had signed for Manchester United. However, their spirits will be lifted slightly by new reports linking their club to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and furthermore by the fact that bookmakers have slashed the odds on the Dortmund Striker moving to SW6.
This market movement has not been slight either - on Friday the odds for Aubameyang to sign for Chelsea in this transfer window were 33/1, today he is as short as 7/2 with some bookmakers. Whilst a move to China is still deemed much more likely at 7/4 and AC Milan are also strongly linked at 11/4; the Premier League winners are very capable of turning the player’s head, if they were to make a serious bid.
Aubameyang scored 31 Bundesliga goals in 32 appearances for Dortmund last season and is surely on Conte’s radar. With Costa on his way out and the Chelsea boss seemingly eager to bring in a new starting frontman, it is now just a matter of whether or not they can seal the deal or will a Chinese mega-deal be too tempting for the player?
