The Man City striker was 28/1 to move to west London yesterday but is now just 9/4.
The search for a striker at Chelsea is picking up pace this week, as a return for Diego Costa now seems almost impossible. The Brazilian-born Spaniard was sent a brutal text earlier this summer from Antonio Conte, stating he had no future at the club and whilst the rest of the Chelsea squad are currently in pre-season training, Costa last night uploaded a video of himself partying in an Atletico Madrid jersey.
The man that Conte looks to have turned his attention to is Sergio Aguero. From being the number one striker in the league, the Argentine is now not even first choice at Man City under Pep Guardiola and he may just be available under the right circumstances. Aguero to Chelsea was as big as 28/1 yesterday, and even 8/1 this morning, but bookies have slashed the odds and he is now as short as 2/1 to be at Stamford Bridge next season.
Another forward Chelsea are eyeing up is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. After being linked with many clubs so far this window, the Bundesliga’s top scorer last season is currently odds-on to join the English champions. 8/11 is the best price available whilst he is as short as 1/2 elsewhere.
One player that the Blues have cooled their interest in is Alvaro Morata. Once as short as 4/11 to sign for the west London club, he is now out to 5/1, with AC Milan the overwhelming 1/5 favourites to secure his services for the coming season.
