Llorente set to finally join Chelsea from Swansea

Antonio Conte has long since had his eye on the Spaniard and looks set to finally get his man.

The Swansea striker has been linked with a move to the Premier League champions for a while now, with Conte initially seeing him as a short term replacement for Diego Costa back in January.

With Costa now looking likely to leave the club having been on strike since the summer, Fernando Llorente would become another option for Chelsea as Alvaro Morata settles in to life at the club

Antonio Conte worked with the Spanish striker at Juventus and now wants to bolster his choices in attack with Llorente before deadline day. The odds have been slashed on the striker joining Chelsea this morning; he’s now just 1/6 to make the move before tomorrow’s deadline.

One bookmaker remains at 1/3 for the move, which was too tempting for a few big bettors. One punter placed a very bullish bet of just over £750 on the transfer taking place. A bet of such value normally indicates somebody is in the know, and the move could take place in the next few hours.

Llorente moving away from Wales could see the return of Wilfried Bony as a result. The former Swans striker has seen his career stall somewhat since his move to Manchester City in 2015 and is 1/12 to re-join his old club, where he made his name the Premier League, with Skybet.

Swansea will be hoping the transfer of Llorente goes through as soon as possible, with those funds adding to a transfer kitty bolstered by the sale of Sigurdsson that they'll want to spend before tomorrow's deadline.
