Everton's summer spending may not be over just yet.
Even though Everton have singed Sandro Ramirez and Wayne Rooney in an attempt to replace the void left by Romelu Lukaku, many pundits believe they still need another striker. Deadline Day punters are convinced Troy Deeney could be the man to lead the Toffees along with Rooney this season.
Since midday, just over 85% of bets placed via Oddschecker on Troy Deeney’s next club have been on Everton. West Brom remain 3/1 to sign the Watford skipper, but the odds of Deeney joining Ronald Koeman in the North West have been cut from 12/1 to as short as 2/1 today.
A deal to bring Diego Costa to Everton looked likely this morning, as the Spaniard was 1/2 to sign for the Toffees. That move now looks unlikely though with the odds for the transfer happening today drifting to 4/1. It was also rumoured earlier today that Koeman wanted to bring Lucas Perez to the club, this now looks unlikely as they’re 6/1 to sign the Arsenal striker, and Deportivo are 1/10.
There’s no hiding Everton want a striker and with other potential transfers looking unlikely, Koeman could up his pursuit in Troy Deeney.
Oddschecker spokesman, George Elek “Troy Deeney has been linked with a move away from Watford all summer, and with Everton struggling to land another striker, this transfer could be one of their only options”.
