Roy Hodgson has emerged as the odds on favourite to replace the dejected Frank de Boer as Crystal Palace manager
Crystal Palace fell to their fourth defeat in a row on Saturday, losing 0-1 to Burnley, and with Palace failing to have scored any goals in their Premier League campaign so far, Frank de Boer’s seat has got a little hotter.
de Boer is now 1/4 with some bookmakers to lose his position, and ex-England boss Roy Hodgson’s odds to take his place have drastically shortened. At the beginning of September, Hodgson was a modest 10/3, but his odds have now gone as low as 1/7 to be the next man in at Selhurst Park.
Bets have been flooding in on Hodgson as a result, with bettors convinced that the end is soon coming for de Boer. Hodgson has received over 50% of bets since the weekend, and his nearest opponent, Sean Dyche, has drifted to 8/1 with some bookmakers since his side’s victory over Palace on Saturday.
Hodgson is a man who didn’t cover himself in glory during his tenure with England, but both bookmakers and bettors seem convinced that he will be the man to replace de Boer.
Slaven Bilic and Rafael Benitez have seen their odds lengthen after de Boer looks set to be the first manager to leave his post. Bilic is 3/1 with Benitez 16/1.
