Since going second at the weekend punters can’t get enough of Thomas Christiansen’s Whites
Leeds United finally look to have put several years of misery behind them and are pointing in an upward direction.
Thomas Christiansen can do no wrong at the moment and his sides 5-0 thrashing of Burton Albion at the weekend has put them in the automatic promotion places.
Since the final whistle blew on Saturday, the Yorkshire club have received six times the amount of bets than any other team to win the Championship and reach the Premier League for the first time since 2004. They are currently a best-priced 15/2 for the title.
66 percent of bettors have gone for the Whites, who are one of only two teams to still be unbeaten after six matches, the other being leaders Cardiff City.
It’s the same story in the promotion market, with 41 percent of bettors going for Leeds since 5pm on Saturday, with four times as many bets placed than the next best-backed team, Sheffield United. It’s 3/1 for them to be in the top two or to be promoted via the play-offs come May.
Pierre-Michel Lasogga made his debut for the club at the weekend and made an instant impact, scoring twice. He’s already had his odds slashed for the Championship Golden Boot: Starting out at 20/1 when he signed and now into 16/1, although he’s as short as 12/1 in places.
