Vale are looking for a new manager after sacking Michael Brown after their latest defeat on Saturday
Former manager Micky Adams is the new favourite to replace Michael Brown at Vale Park after bookmakers cut the 55 year-old in from 12/1 to just 2/1.
Brown was sacked at the weekend following a 1-1 draw with fellow strugglers Forest Green that left Vale at the foot of the football league with just one win from their opening eight league games.
Since Brown’s departure, Adams has accounted for just shy of 80% of all bets on the next manager market through Oddschecker with Dean Saunders and Alan Stubbs the next two most popular with punters.
Oddschecker spokesman George Elek: “They say that you should never go back in football - but Micky Adams has already made a mockery of that saying once before, and punters are backing him for a third spell at Vale Park. He has won 98 of his 247 games in charge of the club in those first two spells, and the betting patterns suggest the the Burslem club may turn to their club hero to get them out of trouble in League 2.”
