Kevin Nolan's men have now won their last four league games without conceding
Notts County’s impressive start to the season continued at the weekend as Kevin Nolan’s men secured a 1-0 win away to Crawley. The Magpies now sit second in the table, three points behind unbeaten leaders Exeter City and five points clear of Luton Town in fourth. County are unbeaten since their opening day defeat at the hands of Coventry City and punters are starting to believe a promotion push is on the cards.
Following the latest three point haul, County have attracting just shy of 32% of total bets on the League Two promotion market. Over 12% clear of both Swindon and Luton who are next most popular teams.
Expectation has been high since the start of the season with the bookmakers at least having initially been priced up as 4/1 contenders for promotion before a ball had been kicked. Those odds have now shortened significantly with 9/4 now the best odds on offer, suggesting an implied probability of 30.8% that County will be making a return to the third tier of English football next season.
Those odds will likely shorten further if Nolan and his team can emerge from their next two fixtures with their impressive unbeaten run in tact as they host a Lincoln side who have made a bright start to life in League Two before travelling to the early season pacesetters Exeter just three days later.

Considering his high profile, there must be a chance that the former Bolton midfielder's exploits in the dugout will lead to interest from clubs higher up the pyramid, but that isn't putting people off getting stuck into them in the League 2 promotion market’
