First place Magpies still have favourable odds to top the table
Notts County came away with an impressive away win against Exeter last night, trumping them 3-0, and since then there have been a huge surge of bets on County to take the League Two title.
Just under 50% of bets since the final whistle blew last night have been on the Magpies to top the league, and even more if we look at all bets this week, a total of 63%, showing that punters seemed convinced even before last night’s win.
Bookies have taken notice too, shortening Notts County’s odds to 5/1 in some places, down from 8/1 on Monday. They have overtaken Mansfield (6/1) as second favourites with many bookmakers, while Luton remain favourites to win League Two at 2/1. The best price you can find for County is currently 7/1.
County’s win last night put them 3 points above Exeter at the top of the table with 25 points after just ten games. Luton are fifth with 18 points, while Mansfield are ninth with 16. With a sizeable points advantage early on, it’s easy to see why the bets have been flying in on them.
