PSG Picked by Punters to Win Champions League

French giants were once 20/1 to win the tournament, but their odds have plummeted in recent weeks

Paris Saint-Germain have been the overwhelming favourite of punters to win the Champions League this season with all major bookmakers.

The French phenoms have accounted for 19% of bets since the close of matchday 2 (the most out of any side) as well as 21% of bets all time, comfortably more than next most-backed Real Madrid who have 14% of all bets.

PSG have constantly been dropping in the market with the bookmakers, and are now second favourites at a best price of 5/1, behind Madrid at 4/1.

They were 20/1 when the markets first opened, before the signings of Neymar and Mbappe and their crushing defeats of Celtic and Bayern.

Since the close of matchday 2, Man City (11%) and Chelsea (10%) have been the most backed British clubs.

Oddschecker spokesman George Elek: “PSG's European campaign has got off to the perfect start, and the 3-0 demolition of Bayern sent a signal to the rest of Europe that they are major contenders for the title. There have to be question marks as to their mental strength after that famous collapse against Barcelona last season, but punters have clearly seen enough to back them at the 5/1 available.”
