One bookmaker has made Bolton a very, very clear favourite for Championship relegation
While all bookmakers have made Bolton the odds on favourites for relegation, one particular bookmaker seems so convinced the Wanderers will go down that they’ve priced them as 1/1000 to be dropped. Yes, 1/1000.
This does differ from other bookies who have stuck to more reasonable odds, with the best price you can currently get for a Bolton relegation being 2/9.
After the loss to Villa this weekend Bolton have been the most backed team across all bookies for relegation, with 35% of bets, showing that the shortening in odds hasn’t been necessarily turning the punters away. By all accounts, they think it’s a sure thing.
Bolton began the season at 2/1 to be relegated, and it was never going to be easy for them returning to the Championship, but it now seems like punters and bookmakers alike have seen enough.
Oddschecker spokesman George Elek: "This firm are taking absolutely no chances here, and have made Bolton an unbackable price for the drop. The 1/1000 quoted means gives the newly promoted team are seen to have just a 0.01% chance of retaining their Championship status."
