As part of our continuing series of weekend football betting previews, we’ve taken a look at the clubs from each league that have seen the biggest percentage of bets placed on them for a single game result. All stats are correct at time of writing.
1. Coventry (vs Accrington away)
A massive 76.46% of bets have been on the Sky Blues to win in their away fixture against Accrington. In comparison, just 9.38% of bets have been on an Accrington win, making this the biggest disparity of the weekend, with a 67.08% difference. Coventry are above evens at 4/3 to win, and this has clearly made punters take notice.
2. Peterborough (vs Gillingham)
It may come as no surprise that high-flying 5th placed Peterborough have been heavily backed against 23rd placed Gillingham at home. 75.4% of bets have come in for the league one side to win.
3. Cardiff City (vs Birmingham away)
Cardiff have seen just under two thirds of bets to win against Birmingham, with 65.2% of punters backing the Bluebirds to triumph. Oddschecker spokesman George Elek: “Cardiff's strong start to the season shows no sign of stopping and a trip to St Andrews does not have punters worried."
4. Man United (vs Liverpool away)
Our Premier League representative has seen a huge 58.02% of bets to beat rivals Liverpool at Anfield in tomorrow’s derby. Punters have seemed to shy away from Man City to beat Stoke (1/6) and Tottenham to beat Bournemouth (9/2), both of which have around 40% of bets to win, in favour of the 9/5 odds on United to win.
