Sam Allardyce has been installed as the early 5/1 favourite after Craig Shakespeare was sacked by Leicester this afternoon.
Craig Shakespeare has been sacked as Leicester manager following six Premier League matches without a win. Incidentally that is the same length of winless run that prompted the Leicester board to sack title-winning manager Claudio Ranieri last year.
The favourite to replace Shakespeare in the Leicester hot seat is Sam Allardyce at 2/1, who had previously said he wouldn't take another job after leaving Crystal Palace in the summer.
Despite that, the ex England manager was said to be interested in the Scotland job and has reportedly thrown his hat into the ring to become the next manager of the USA team. His experience in keeping teams in the Premier League could mean the Leicester board doing all they can to persuade the 62 year-old to perform a u-turn on his club management stance.
He would certainly be a solid appointment for a club that has now sacked two managers in eight months just a year after winning the Premier League.
Other names in contention are former manager Nigel Pearson at 7/2, Michael Appleton at 4/1, Roberto Mancini at 5/1 and current Wales manager Chris Coleman at 8/1.
