There were four shocking results on Tuesday that could have seen you win big.
It was an evening of shocks in the Champions League last night and if you were Mystic Meg (or a very, very lucky punter), you could have made yourself a fortune by backing four improbable scores. While Spurs drawing with Real Madrid was a decent, if not unlikely result, the real money was to be had at Maribor, Moscow, Nicosia & Monaco.
Maribor 0-7 Liverpool
Liverpool were yet to win away from home in the Champions League this season but they smashed that unwanted record in style, knocking seven past a woeful Maribor side. There weren’t many who believed in Jurgen Klopps side to that extent, but those that did were rewarded with odds of up to 200/1 pre-match.

Spartak Moscow 5-1 Sevilla
Sevilla are the undoubted kings of the Europa League, but they’ve found the Champions League slightly harder. Moscow is never an easy place to go to (just ask Liverpool) and the home side produced one of their most memorable European nights. If you thought 200/1 was big odds for the above score, just think you could have had 500/1 on a 5-1 prediction for this game!

APOEL Nicosia 1-1 Borussia Dortmund
In the ‘Group of Death’ it’s very likely that none of Spurs, Real Madrid or Dortmund will be able to drop points against the Cypriot side and still qualify. However that’s exactly what happened and it could have been even worse had Sokratis Papastathopoulos not found an equaliser for Dortmund. Those canny enough to back the 1-1 draw could have had odds of 13/1 pre-match.

Monaco 1-2 Beşiktaş
Monaco might not be the force that they were 12 months ago but they are still very much heavyweights and Turkish sides are notorious for not travelling well in Europe. However, Besiktas pulled off a stunner by beating the Red and Whites in their own backyard, with Cenk Tosun scoring twice to make it three wins from three for the Black Eagles. 40/1 was the biggest pre-match price and odds are now much shorter than that for Besiktas to qualify for the knockout stages for the first time ever.
