Jose Mourinho has seen his odds to be the next Premier League manager to leave his post slashed. A 100/1 shot just weeks ago, his odds have been cut again today into as short as 20/1 having been 66/1 this morning.
Oddschecker has seen a number of bets on the former Real Madrid and Chelsea manager at both 66/1 and 40/1 with one punter in line for a four-figure pay out.
In the last 24 hours, Mourinho is the second most popular pick in the market with 23% of all bets. Leading the way is West Brom manager Tony Pulis (33%) who is the bookmakers’ joint-second favourite at 5/1. Completing the top three is Swansea manager Paul Clement (11%) who is also a 5/1 shot.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: This flurry of bets is seemingly due to the rumours swirling that Mourinho is a target for Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain. Given their tremendous start to the season both domestically and in Europe, it seems unlikely that Unai Emery will not last the season, so punters maybe jumping the gun here by backing the Man Utd manager to be next out of the door.
