Punters believe the former West Brom manager has already found a new role, just hours after sacking.
West Bromwich Albion sacked the experienced Welsh manager following a string of bad results, which has left the club just one point above the relegation zone. Fortunately for Pullis, there are plenty of managerial vacancies at this time of year, but perhaps the most suited position available would be for him to replace Chris Coleman as Wales manager.
Before today’s announcement from the Midlands club, Pulis was 4/1 to become the national team manager of Wales, however those odds have been considerably cut by four different bookies on Oddschecker. One bookie has the former Stoke manager at 1/2 to land the role, implying a 66.7% chance.
Pulis faces stiff competition from two former Welsh legends, Ryan Giggs and Craig Bellamy who are both amongst the favourites in the market and were the two most popular picks with punters over the weekend. Man Utd legend Giggs can be backed at 4/1 to land his first full-time managerial position with Bellamy 10/1 for the role.
Pulis has also shortened for the vacant Everton position as well as the vacancy north of the boarder at Rangers. The 59-year-old has come in from 40/1 to 16/1 to be managing in Merseyside, and similarly he’s in from 40/1 to 16/1 to take charge of the Glasgow giants.
Oddschecker spokesman, George Elek “Since this morning’s sacking, Tony Pulis has accounted for 86% of bets to be named the new Wales manager. He looks one of the most experienced candidates in the market and the reduced workload international management brings could be a perfect fit for a manager who has been non-stop for over 30 years.”
