Former-Socceroos manager cut from 25/1 to 3/1 to be next Rangers manager

Ange Postecoglou has sparked rumours of a move to Glasgow following his resignation from Australia’s national team

Despite Australia qualifying for the World Cup in Russia last week, just six days later the man behind the successful qualifying campaign, Ange Postecoglou handed in his resignation.

The 52-year-old Greek-born Australian claimed the pressure of the job had “taken a toll on me” but many pundits believe the former manager quit as he had new job lined up. The Scottish media reported earlier in the month that the Socceroos head coach would be interested in a move to Ibrox and those rumours have only intensified since his resignation, as bookies have cut his odds of being the next Rangers manager from 25/1 to as short as 3/1 in the last 48-hours.

Oddschecker spokesman, George Elek” The former Melbourne Victory manager has accounted for 76% of bets in the market this morning, in the next Rangers manager market. The sheer amount of money coming for Postecoglou has forced him into third favourite for the role behind McLeish and McInnes.”
