A last minute winner at Sheffield United keeps Lee Johnson’s side in the top echelons of the league.
It looked as if Wolverhampton Wanderers were all set to coast towards the Championship title but a slip up at the weekend has allowed other teams to make up ground on the Midlands side and it looks that they could have a real challenger in Lee Johnson’s Bristol City.
The Robins took the initiative on Friday night by going to Sheffield United and winning in the last minute, their third win in a row. It gave their Social Media team another chance to fire up one of their infamous player goal GIFs.

That result, coupled with Wolves’ surprising 0-0 draw at home to Sunderland means that City are now eight points behind Wolves and three points behind Cardiff (who have a game in hand). Punters have been quick however to back City for a crack at the title whilst they are at large odds.
Joint-third favourites to finish top, City are a best price of 33-1 to win the league and more bets have gone on the Robins than any other team over the weekend, as they accounted for 38% of bets.
The consensus is that the title is still Wolves’ to lose, but that there are teams waiting to pounce if any slip-ups occur. 17% of bets still went on the team in Black and Gold this weekend, as their odds have increased slightly: They’re now a best price of 3-10.
Oddschecker Spokesman George Elek: “Bristol City were somewhat fortunate to run out winners at Bramall Lane, with their opponents dominating the majority of the game despite going down to 10 men early in the second half. Given the amount of money that has been laid on both Wolves and Cardiff, the volume of bets could well be those hedging their position on seemingly the only other team in the race.”
