A seemingly unlikely transfer of Griezmann from Atletico to Liverpool has picked up pace in the last 24 hours.
Since selling Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona for £142 million, there have been a whole host of names linked with a move to Anfield.
Reported potential candidates over the last week have been Thomas Lemar, Julian Draxler, Yannick Carrasco, Manuel Lanzini, Christian Pulisic, Riyad Mahrez and even ambitious interest in Alexis Sanchez.
One name that seems to have come from nowhere, however, is long-term Manchester United target Antoine Griezmann.
Multiple bookies yesterday cut the odds on the Frenchman joining Jurgen Klopp’s team, with SkyBet offering 7/2 and Betfair cutting the odds from 14/1 to 4/1.
In the last 24 hours 77.8% of bets through Oddschecker have been placed on a move to Liverpool for Griezmann, making the Anfield club the most backed in the market.
A move for the La Liga star remains more likely in the summer however, with both Manchester United and Barcelona said to be interested, while Atletico have placed a reported £89 million price tag on his head.
Oddschecker spokesperson, George Elek: "Despite the signing of Virgil van Dijk, Liverpool's squad still looks a bit unbalanced with reinforcements at the back still needed.
"Surprisingly, therefore, it is a host of attacking players who have been linked to the club, even though the departed Coutinho was mainly deployed in a central midfield role this campaign.
"Griezmann is the latest in this long list of apparent targets to attract support."
