Besiktas new favourites to sign Leicester striker Islam Slimani

Besiktas look to be leading the race for Islam Slimani having sanctioned the sale ofCenk Tosun to Everton.

Islam Slimani is being backed for a January move to Besiktas, with the Turkish club reportedly in talks with the Foxes.

The out of favour forward is rumoured to be leaving the King Power, and punters are piling in on his next destination being the Vodafone Arena.

A total of 75% of all bets over the last 24 hours have been placed on the 29-year-old joining up with Şenol Güneş’ team, as the striker searches for some consistent first team action.

The surge of bets has been replicated in the odds of Slimani’s next destination, with his odds to move to Besiktas crashing from 14/1 to 6/5.

Behind the Turkish giants, Premier League clubs Watford and Newcastle remain in the frame for the Algerian international.

Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek said: “We’ve seen a plethora of action for Slimani and a move to Besiktas, with punters piling in on a potential switch.

“With Besiktas in need of reinforcements up front following the sale of Cenk Tosun and Slimani needing regular game time – it’s easy to see why the move is being touted to come off. “
