The Reds are virtually certain to make the Quarter-finals and there's plenty of support in the betting
It was a golden Champions League night for Liverpool as their attacking firepower reached new levels, swatting aside Porto 5-0 in their own backyard.
Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane all scored (the latter getting a hat trick), as Jurgen Klopp's side virtually secured a place in the Quarter-finals.
Punters were eager to back the Reds outright after that, as the team from Merseyside eye a sixth European Cup.
Since kick-off last night, Liverpool have received half of all Champions League outright bets, way ahead of Real Madrid, who are the next best-backed team in that time with 16%.
Despite the influx, Liverpool’s odds haven’t really changed, with Klopp’s men 14/1 to win the tournament, a price you could have got yesterday morning.
Elsewhere, Man City are firm favourites as they also look to have secured a last eight place, dismantling Basel 4-0 on Tuesday. City are a best price of 13/4, while Spurs are 16/1, Man Utd 23/1 and Man United 40/1.
With five teams still in the competition, it’s no surprise to see England being the favourite in the Winning Nationality market, with 11/8 the best price. It’s also the best backed selection, with 55% of total bets received over the last 24 hours, ahead of second-favourite Spain (10/3), which received 20% of bets.
Oddschecker Spokesman George Elek: “Liverpool put the rest of Europe on notice with their scintillating display against a team that hasn’t lost in the league so far this season. If the Reds get a favourable draw in the last eight (should they progress), you’d expect the 14/1 price to drop. It’s no surprise to see Jurgen Klopps side being backed so well, and with all five English teams holding varying realistic ambitions in this tournament, 11/8 looks a great price for a first home winner since 2012.”
