The former Watford manager’s odds have tumbled from 14/1 to evens to take over at West Brom, should Pardew get the sack.
The out of work Portuguese manager has accounted for 71% of bets in the market over the last 24 hours, with Gary Megson and Harry Redknapp just behind him in the betting.
Speculation over Pardew’s future has been increasing over the couple of weeks with West Brom in a dire run of one win in 25 Premier League matches.
The Spanish taxi fiasco, involving four senior players at the club, and Pardew’s decision to select Jonny Evans and Gareth Barry regardless in their FA Cup tie against Southampton has only worsened his position with the club’s fans.
Pardew’s team go into this weekend’s home match against Huddersfield with the added pressure that a loss could see the West Brom board run of patience with the ex-Crystal Palace boss.
Harry Redknapp opened as the 13/5 favourite at the beginning of the week, however it now looks as though Silva is winning the race for the Baggies hot seat in what would be a swift return to management, having left Watford in January.
Oddschecker spokesperson, George Elek: “A loss against Huddersfield could signal the end of the 'Pardiola' era at the Hawthorns, and Marco Silva does look the obvious candidate to take over. He was unable to arrest Hull's slide into the Championship last term, but improved performances markedly which is what Albion need at this time.”
