The two big underdogs seven days ago progress and their odds have been slashed for Champions League glory.
It was a night to remember in Europe for Liverpool and Roma fans as both sides progressed to the Champions League Semi-finals on a night of shocks.
Liverpool made the final four for the first time in ten years as they survived an early onslaught and eventually won 2-1 on the night.
Roma meanwhile have never got this far before, winning 3-0 against Barca at the Stadio Olimpico to create their own slice of history.
As you’d expect, there were some massive odds beforehand for these two scorelines and someone somewhere could have got very rich if they took the best odds available. One bookmaker pre-match were offering 80/1 for a Roma 3-0 scoreline and 22/1 for a 2-1 Liverpool win, making a 1,862/1 double.
Unfortunately, you won’t get odds this big for either team to win it all, something that both sides will fancy. The Reds are now as short as 3/1 and a best price of 57/17, just behind Real Madrid (6/4) and Bayern Munich (9/4) respectively.
Roma meanwhile could present some real value at 12/1 best price, with just three more potential matches away from eternal glory.
Oddschecker punters have gone for Liverpool in their drives, with 78% of all bets since the final whistle going on Jurgen Klopp’s side, with the attacking power at his disposal possibly enough to send the Merseyside club all the way.
Oddschecker Spokesman George Elek: “None of us could have seen what was to come tonight and while Liverpool were favourites to qualify, to do so with another win is all the more impressive, and that’s not even mentioning Roma’s heroics. The knee-jerk reaction in the market is to back Liverpool, but there could well be some that see value in Roma at 12/1.”
