Kalidou Koulibaly’s last minute header has breathed new life into the Serie A title race, with Napoli now evens to win the title.
The fact that the win was over current leaders Juventus has played a big part in the odds fluctuation, with Napoli a massive 5/1 prior to kick off.
On the flip side, Juventus were looking very secure before playing Napoli at 1/12 and a 0-0 draw was looking a very good result until Koulibaly’s late intervention.
As it stands this morning, Juventus are still the marginal favourites at 4/5 with a one point advantage over Maurizio Sarri’s team, however the race for Italy’s biggest prize now looks like going to the wire.
Since kick off in Turin, 83% of bets in the Serie A winner market have been placed on Napoli, with punters keen to take advantage of their favourable run-in.
Juventus have the more difficult remaining matches with Inter Milan and Roma still to play, while Napoli face none of the current top eight clubs.
Oddschecker spokesperson Rino Greco said: “The last minute goal against Juventus last night sent Napoli fans into raptures, and has massively increased their chances of winning the Scudetto.
“Giorgio Chiellini sustained an injury in the game in what proved to be a hammer blow for the Old Lady.
“If the titanic talisman is not fit for the run-in, Napoli surely have a tremendous chance to seal a famous Scudetto.”
