Steven Gerrard 1/4 to become the next Rangers manager

Steven Gerrard 1/4 to become the next Rangers manager

The job is 'His if he wants it' as the Liverpool legend's odds are slashed for the Ibrox vacancy.

Steven Gerrard could finally be landing his first professional managerial role, as reports have stated that the Rangers job is ‘His if he wants it’.

It would be a huge surprise if the Liverpool legend ended up at Ibrox, with a club that is the stature of Rangers a huge opportunity for a managerial rookie.

Old Firm clashes against his former manager Brendan Rodgers could be something special, as the blue half of Glasgow will be frantically trying to stop Celtic achieving an historic ten in a row.

A huge 14/1 four days ago, his price has sunk like a stone and is now massively odds-on at 1/4, the only person to be odds-on in the current market. You can however get a best price of 2/7 on the 37-year-old.

Cardiff manager Neil Warnock is 3/1 best price behind him, with a huge gap between these two and the next candidate, Dutchman Frank De Boer who is 20/1.

Oddschecker spokesman George Elek: “Steven Gerrard could be on the verge of his first managerial role and if he does go to Rangers, he will be thrown in at the deep end in terms of pressure and expectation.

"Gerrard won almost everything there is to win at club level and that experience could galvanise Rangers as they look to close the gap on great rivals Celtic and make it a proper title race next season. Odds of 1/4 indicate that we could be hearing an announcement very soon…”
