Fulham youngster shows once again his talent as Fulham reach play-off final

Another important goal from the Fulham superstar has got more people talking.

Ryan Sessegnon helped fire Fulham into the play-off final after dismantling Derby County 2-0. The winger, who isn’t 18 until Friday, opened the scoring before an unlikely goalscorer in Odoi completed the turnaround and put Fulham into the final.

Bookies have already shortened Fulham to 8/11 to win the play-offs, although this may change depending on the outcome of the Aston Villa v Middlesbrough second leg.

Sessegnon has been in the spotlight all season long and with Southgate set to announce his 23 man squad, there is a chance he could be this tournaments ‘wildcard’, so to speak.

He hasn’t even sat on the bench before for the Three Lions, but he is as short as 4/1 with William Hill to be called up by Gareth Southgate.

You can still find 6/1 with bet365, but clearly bookies believe there is a real possibility he could well be on his way to Russia.

This wouldn’t be the first time there’s been a shock youngster called up without a single appearance. Sven Goran Eriksson chose to take 16-year-old Theo Walcott back in 2006. However, he failed to play single minute of that particular tournament.

Oddschecker spokesman George Elek: “It has been simply quite a remarkable season for Ryan Sessegnon. Will he be on the plane to Russia? Perhaps not. But he’s shown he can handle big occasions and will be a top, top player in years to come.”
