Having quit Shanghai SIPG in 2017 to pursue a career as a rally driver, (yes, we are not making this up), Boas never actually managed to compete at the level he wanted to, after crashing into a sand dune in Peru and severely injuring his back (again, we are not making this up).
The 40-year-old is now looking to return to football and move on from his short lived rally driving career.
