Jose Mourinho’s side have been cut from 5/1, into as short as 2/1 with some bookmakers following the comments, as punters pile in on a potential move.
United have accounted for 38% of all bets on Lewandowski’s next club in the last 24 hours, forcing bookmakers to cut odds on a move to Old Trafford.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek said: “One of the busiest markets we’ve seen in terms of traffic this morning is which club Lewandowski will play with next season.
“Despite Real Madrid being the current favourite, money has poured in on the Red Devils making a statement signing in this transfer window.”
