Heartbreak for England as they lose in extra time but the country can be proud.
It was a case of so near yet so far for Gareth Southgate and England, as Croatia slip past the Three Lions in extra-time to set up a date with France on Sunday.
A Mario Mandzukic goal was enough to win and although the nation will be hurting right now, there can be so much pride in the way that England performed on the biggest stage, reaching the last four for the first time since 1990.
It continues a remarkable run for the Eastern Europeans though, with Croatia available at 12/1 as the knockout stages started.
Oddschecker Spokesman George Elek: “It’s tough times for the Three Lions but the whole country can be proud after giving everything and making it to the last four for the first time in 28 years. Croatia go on to the final, but will be up against it when they play an odds-on France side.”
