Oddschecker users predicting jubilation on Merseyside and sorrow in Huddersfield
At Oddschecker we see thousands of bets placed in various different markets related to the Premier League. In the run –up to the new season, we’ve compiled these bets, and weighted them in a fair manner to produce the punters predicted Premier League table.
The markets we’ve used to come to the conclusion are; winners, relegation, finish top four, finish bottom, top half finish and bottom half finish (bets since start of June).
The outcome has thrown up a plethora of shocks, with the main one being Liverpool finally getting their hands on a Premier League trophy. Bettors firmly believe that Klopp’s transfer activity will be enough claw back the 25 points they finished behind Man City last year. The Premier League champions are predicted to finish third, behind not only Liverpool but Wenger-less Arsenal.
The Red Devils make up the remainder the top four, with bettors believing Jose’s team will secure another season of Champions League football.
West Ham and Wolves have been very busy in the close season, and with that both optimism and betting support have been growing each day. The two clubs are being backed to finish ahead of both Chelsea and Tottenham, with the Hammers finishing 5th, and the Wanderers grabbing 6th.
At the bottom end of the table, bettors aren’t too bullish about Huddersfield chances of avoiding the drop, with many thinking they’ll be relegated with plenty of games left to play. Punters haven’t been too inspired with Warnock’s lacklustre transfer window and that’s resulted in his club being backed to return straight back to the Championship.
The Saints complete the bottom three, Hughes’ men narrowly avoided the drop last season, and it appears there dismal form hasn’t been forgotten by punters.
