Jack Butland drifts from 1/33 to odds-against to leave Stoke City

The England keeper is set to stay at the Potters after seemingly being destined to leave.

Stoke City look to bounce straight back to the Premier League and one of their key players is looking like staying despite the drop to the second tier.

Jack Butland was 97.1% likely to leave The Potters in May following the clubs relegation, with 1/33 being the best odds you could get at the time.

But that price has gone out the longer the transfer window has gone on, with new boss Gary Rowett stating on record how eager he was to keep the England international at the club.

Prices of 8/11 and 5/6 were available in the last few days, and now odds-against at 11/10 is the price for Butland to leave Stoke and ply his trade elsewhere.

City are 11/2 favourites for the Championship title and as short as 6/4 for promotion.

Oddschecker Spokesman George Elek: “It’s a real show of intent from Stoke City if they manage to keep hold of Jack Butland. The England keeper was 1/33 to leave the Potters in May but Gary Rowett has managed to keep hold of the 25-year old for the time being, which would be a huge boost to the Potters’ promotion chances."
