The Premier League teams bookmakers are most unsure of

There’s some big differences in the prices between UK bookmakers.

With the Premier League season almost upon us, punters are rushing to back a variety of teams across a plethora of markets.

While the consensus is that Man City will romp to another title (they are odds-on to do so), there’s quite a few markets where bookies are split on teams’ chances.

With that in mind, let’s look at the markets where you could get yourself a monster difference in price, if you shop around…

Arsenal

The Gunners have a new man in charge with Unai Emery taking over following the two-decade long reign of Arsene Wenger. It’s hard to assess how they will do this season, and bookies have priced their title challenge varyingly. They are short as 20/1 and as long as 25/1 to end a 15 season wait for the Premier League meaning a £10 stake could get you £210 or £260 respectively: A £50 difference.

That’s nothing though compared to the odds if it all goes wrong. A bottom half finish would be unprecedented this century for the North Londoners, but one bookie has them as short as 9/1 to do so. Two other bookies however have them at 25/1 to finish 11th or lower. That’s a £160 difference in potential returns off a tenner!

Crystal Palace

The Eagles had a horror start last season under the hapless Frank De Boer, but business picked up when good old Roy Hodgson turned up to Selhurst Park to get them out of the mire. Now in their sixth consecutive season in the top flight, they’re pretty much established. But one bookie has them at 18/1 to finish bottom of the league, a position they were in for a good chunk of the last campaign. It’s 28/1 best price however.

It’s a similar story in the ‘Next Manager To Leave’ market. Palace have had seven managers in this Premier League stint and the panic button could be pressed yet again if they find themselves having a poor start. Some bookies have Hodgson at 9/1 to be the first to go, while some have the veteran at 20/1: A £110 difference in returns.

Manchester United

It’s been a pre-season to forget for Jose Mourinho, as he continues to moan while others appear to strengthen around him. The so-called ‘third season curse’ that seems to follow The Special One around could be ready to rear its head again, but with a squad of real quality at his disposal, there could also be some magic yet at Old Trafford.

In the title hunt, United are third favourites, but there’s plenty of different prices: Some bookies have the Red Devils at 7/1 for a first post-Fergie title, with a best price of 12/1 on offer. The unsureness doesn’t just stay with the team: It occurs for individual players too. The Golden Boot race may have it usual frontrunners, but one name that could represent value is Alexis Sanchez. The former Arsenal player varies between 16/1 – 40/1, a huge difference for a player that is tenth in the market.

It all goes to show: If you are serious about your Premier League betting, make sure you use Oddschecker - You could be leaving huge sums of money on the table if you don't!
