Brackley Town have been using their cheque book in order to attain promotion.
Brackley Town have received an unusual amount of traffic on winning National League North, following their two marquee signings.
Following reports that MK Dons midfielder Giorgio Rasulo and Northampton Town striker Leon Lobjoit have both signed for the non-league team – a flurry of bets have been placed on them storming the league.
Over the last 48 hours, 50% of all bets in the market have been on massive underdogs Brackley winning the league, forcing bookies to take action.
They’ve cut him from 30/1 into 14/1 following the landmark signings in relation to the league they’re in, pushing them up to sixth favourites for the title.
Elsewhere, Chester are favourites to win the league at 7/1, followed by Stockport (8/1), York City (9/1) and Hereford (10/1).
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek said: “Normally big business in non-league doesn't cause much of a betting spike, but eagle eyed punters were quick to act after Brackley splashed the cash.
“Beware though, there was a similar plunge on Salford City after they made big moves in the market, but they have picked up one points from their first two games.”
