Fulham front man backed more than anyone else for top scorer over the weekend.
By the end of the season there’s every possibility that we look back at the early Golden Boot markets and identify huge value (Mo Salah last August anyone?), and it could be the case again if Fulham’s star striker continues to provide.
Aleksandar Mitrovic has become something of a cult hero down at Craven Cottage after helping fire Slavisa Jokanovic’s side to promotion last season, and the 23-year-old has started like a train in this campaign, with three goals in his first three games.
It has put him joint-top of the early leaderboard with five other players, although only two of those (Lucas Moura and Roberto Pereya) have longer odds than the Serbian star.
Mitrovic is currently 66/1 to end up with the Golden Boot and he has been the best backed selection over the weekend, with 23% of total bets, more than Sergio Aguero (12%) and two-goal Spurs hero Lucas Moura (10%).
Those two are available at 4/1 and 100/1 respectively, while Harry Kane is still favourite at 3/1, having shortened up after his goal against Manchester United on Monday Night Football.
